THE SILVER SERIES, VOLUME 2
O Heavenly King,
The Comforter, the Spirit of Truth,
Who art everywhere and fillest all things,
Treasury of blessings and Giver of Life,
Come and abide in us,
And cleanse us from every impurity
And save our souls, O Good One.
It is only when we hear the symphony emerging, as each of us plays his prescribed part, that we begin to discover the invisible orchestral conductor of the Church. That conductor is the Holy Spirit, the score is the Word of God, and we ourselves are the musicians. We can take up our instrument, responsibly and wholeheartedly, with the gifts that God has bestowed on each of us, all the while listening and harmonizing with the gifts of others. It is in that communal, humble, conscientious and tentative exchange that we find conciliarity.
Fr. Cyril Argenti was a monk and a priest. Born in 1918, of Greek parents, he served the Orthodox community in Marseille, France, for over 40 years. He founded the parish of St. Irenaeus, took part in ecumenical dialogue and devoted much of his time to serving the poor. He passed from this life on the Feast of the Presentation of the Mother of God in the Temple, 21 November, 1994.
