AVANT Series Volume One - Treasures of the Armenian Christian Tradition
The "teaching" of Saint Gregory is part of the Armenian History by the unknown Agat'angelos, which describes the conversion of King Trdat at the beginning of the fourth century and the work of Saint Gregory the Illuminator in establishing the church of Armenia on a formal basis.
In 1970 it was translated into English for the first time by Robert Thomson with copious notes. Since that date much has been learned about the History of Agat'angelos and related texts. And as the original translation has long been out of print, a completely revised and updated English rendering, with commentary taking into account recent advances in Armenian studies, now makes this fundamental text available for a wide readership.
