Protopresbyter John Meyendorff (1926–1992) was a renowned Orthodox theologian, church historian, and one of the foremost interpreters of Byzantine theology in the twentieth century.
As Dean of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, he played a pivotal role in advancing Orthodox theological education and scholarship. His numerous books and essays—particularly on Byzantine theology, St. Gregory Palamas, and the history of the Orthodox Church—continue to inspire clergy, students, and readers around the world.
